History of The Club

Glen Gorse Golf Club is steeped in history. Established in 1933, Mr J. E White purchased the club and with the help of friends began laying the foundations of the club.

Today, Glen Gorse is a well-established course with a thriving club membership. Both the club and course are highly regarded by members and visitors.

Our members are a diverse group and a mix of all ages, genders and abilities.

We regard our members as being the epicentre of our club. That’s why we offer a range of member benefits, including, access to a packed diary of events, training facilities, putting greens, the pro-shop and clubhouse.

We also offer a taster membership for those who want to sample the club and course.

The Course

Our pristine course is kept in emaculate condition by our head green keeper, Chris Shuttlewood. Chris has been with us for over 10 years and operates a policy of continuous improvement. He was responsible for upgrading the greens to USGA specification.

The course is a challenging par 72. Consisting of narrow fairways and plenty of strategically positioned hazards, our course is regarded as being ‘a true test of golfing ability’.

The Club House

After a long game of golf we invite you to come and relax, and make use of the fantastic facilities we have in our Club House.

The Club House the heartbeat of our club. With food and drinks served daily, we offer a range of delicious light bites as well as a mouth-water gourmet dishes.

Societies can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner from our exclusive ‘Society Menu’ when you book to play at Glen Gorse. Designed specifically for Societies our varied menu has a range dishes.

Lovely parkland course. Par 72 with several long par 4s. It is a relatively flat course so ideal for senior golfers but still with plenty of challenging holes. It is kept in very good condition and the greens are also very good with consistent pace.

We play Glen Gorse every year in their festival week and have always been made to feel very welcome. The course is very well presented and challenging without being unfair. If you have the opportunity to play it you won't be disappointed well worth a day out .

Really enjoyed the course. Tees were well maintained, fairways were rolly-polly and in good condition. Bunker conditions were good and the greens were true and medium-fast. All in all, we'll be back, and for £15+£1, we felt it was good value. Patrons that I met were very friendly and the club house balcony has a great view. We shall be back.
