Hole 17

Par 4, Yards 451, Stroke Index 5

"Drive as close as possible to the big tree on the right side of the fairway. A long iron or wood is then needed to reach the green. If in doubt, hit a wood!"

Richard Reed, Club Professional

Hole 17 is a long par 4 and requires a powerful drive placed to the left of the tall tree visible on right side of the fairway. This will leave a long iron or fairway wood to a large green which is protected on the left and right by greenside traps. The bail out shot is, therefore, long and right. The par is demanding here and many players are happy to settle for a bogey 5.
